TORONTO - The Canadian Medical Association is offering a special program to help doctors deal more positively with their health. The physician health professional development program consists of four modules over two days, looking at such issues as health status, physician impairment, disruptive behaviour, suicide prevention, creating healthy workplaces and managing personal well-being. Course faculty members include Dr. Michael Kaufmann, the Ontario Medical Association's physician health program director; Dr. Michael Myers, a Vancouver-based psychiatrist and physician health specialist; and Dr. Mamta Gautam, an Ottawa psychiatrist who limits her practice to physicians.
