TORONTO - The
Canadian Medical Association is offering a special program to help doctors
deal more positively with their health. The physician health professional
development program consists of four modules over two days, looking at such
issues as health status, physician impairment, disruptive
behaviour, suicide prevention, creating healthy
workplaces and managing personal well-being. Course faculty members include
Dr. Michael Kaufmann, the Ontario Medical Association's physician health
program director; Dr. Michael Myers, a Vancouver-based psychiatrist and
physician health specialist; and Dr. Mamta Gautam, an Ottawa psychiatrist
who limits her practice to physicians.
