While marriage breakups are becoming common, raising kids as a single parent isn't getting any easier and huge time demands have doctor-parents suffering burnout. Here’s how some are coping.

The Medical Society of P.E.I. is sending its 240 members, residents and interns a book on physician health by Ottawa-based psychiatrist and Medical Post columnist Dr. Mamta Gautam. Titled Irondoc, the book deals with stress management techniques for physicians. The decision to distribute it was made by MSPEI executive director Sandy Irwin, who heard Dr. Gautam speak at a recent physician wellness conference in Ottawa. The book was in kits given to delegates at the MSPEI annual meeting in Charlottetown.
